Come along for a private view and tour of the LJMU Special Collections & Archives, including access to material never exhibited before and a behind the scenes tour of the archive strong rooms.
This event is part of Heritage Open Days, England’s biggest heritage festival, which runs every year in September. It celebrates history, architecture and culture, offering people the chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences.
The Special Collections and Archives at LJMU cover a wide variety of areas, meaning there really is something for everyone. Topics range from popular music and counter culture (for example, England’s Dreaming: The Jon Savage Archive, Situationist Collection, and Barry Miles Archives) and Liverpool theatre and writing (for example, The Everyman Theatre, Royal Court Theatre, Unity Theatre and Willy Russell Archives) to the history of fashion (Liddell Hart Collection), girl’s comics (Femorabilia) and the history of LJMU.

Please note, this event is not suitable for children under the age of 16.
This year we are running three tours, with a maximum of 12 people per tour:
- Thursday 7 September: 5.30 – 7.00pm
- Friday 8 September: 10.00 – 11.30am
- Saturday 9 September: 10.00 – 11.30am
