The eagle eyed among you may have noticed that this week is Explore Your Archive week, and we have been tweeting every day using the hashtags #archivecatwalk #ediblearchives #hairyarchives #archivescience and #lovearchives

The week has proved very successful for the national Explore Your Archive campaign, with the hashtags trending every day. You can see some highlights of the campaign on The National Archives Storify page.

For LJMU Special Collections & Archives we have had over 130 likes and over 80 retweets so far this week, but we’re still going!

This year we have taken a digital approach to participating in Explore Your Archive, and in particular we are very keen to promote the fact that the new archive catalogue is now online at archives.ljmu.ac.uk! At the moment we just have two of our archive catalogues available through this database (the Everyman Theatre Archive and the England’s Dreaming: Jon Savage Archive), but we will be adding to this over the coming months. Eventually you will be able to search right across our collections using the one database, rather than having to consult individual collection catalogues. There are also plans to integrate the system with our library Discover system, to provide seamless access to our collections.  Watch this space and explore your archive!
