LJMU Special Collections & Archives attended the heritage showcase at the Victorian Studies Conference at Gladstone’s Library on Thursday 12th September. From our stall, we represented our Liddell Hart Collection of Costume and our Peter Farrer crossdressing collection.

The conference was a great success, and we met many prospective new researchers from showcasing our material. Alongside our original periodicals and fashion plates was our beloved badge-maker, which we had people queuing up to use! Several attendees told us that our stall was the highlight of the faire, and that they had been told they had to come and visit us before leaving.
If you want to see more from our day at the lovely Gladstone’s Library, as well as from the exhibition preview of NML’s Holly Johnson Story exhibition, we have a TikTok video which elaborates more.
