Sally Marquis, the Archives Assistant at LJMU Special Collections & Archives, has recently catalogued the archive material collected and created by photographer and anthropologist Ted Polhemus during the writing and research for his StreetStyle exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, and for his 1994 publication Streetstyle: From Sidewalk to Catwalk.

The collection includes: a significant amount of streetstyle and other fashion photography by Ted Polhemus and others; complete runs of rare fashion magazines such as i-D; runs and issues of smaller publications; and rare and unique 1980s and 1990s London club promotional material, among other items.

The collection is fully browsable via the catalogue hierarchy.  To read more about the collection and Ted Polhemus, visit the top-level record TP/SS.

Additional cataloguing work on Ted Polhemus’ complete papers, including the subcollections TP/FF Fashion & Fetishism, and TP/ABAD Anthropology of the Body, is ongoing – so keep an eye out!
