Are you a book artist, or take inspiration from literature?
LJMU and Liverpool Book Art are collaborating on this call for submissions for an upcoming exhibition of new or pre-existing works of: art inspired by literature or poetry; artists books; collaborations between artists and writers; and new bindings or settings of texts.
The exhibition entitled Where Artists and Texts Meet will run 6 Feb – 29 Mar 2026 in the Mount Pleasant Campus Library, 29 Maryland St., L1 9DE. A complementary Insights Day about book art will run on a day of the week commencing 16 Feb, exact time and date to be confirmed later.
Submissions close 4 Jan 2026 via the CuratorSpace portal.
Artists are invited to submit:
- Up to 3 works (max 2 images per work).
- An explanation of the work’s connection to the theme (150 words max).
- A video of the work being handled (30-60 seconds).
- Proposals for inclusion on Insights Day e.g. a talk, workshop, demonstration which should be non-academic and informal in nature.
